Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands opened the first program in Kershaw County at Blaney Elementary School in 2011 as a part of the Kershaw County School District’s (KCSD) Safe Schools Grant . We expanded into Pine Tree Hill Elementary, Doby’s Mill Elementary and Lugoff-Elgin Middle in 2012, and then Midway Elementary and Lugoff Elementary in 2014. We then opened the Jackson Teen Center (JTC) in partnership with KDSC in 2015.
In 2018 the Advisory Board voted to create Boys & Girls Clubs of Kershaw County (BGCKC) as a subsidiary of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Crescent Region (BGCCR) a newly formed management and support services organization. BGCKC is unique 501(c)3 non-profit that is supported by and operates under the Boys & Girls Club charter of BGCCR.
